The driver shifts gears from the steering wheel, and colour indicators let the driver know when the engine is nearing its rpm limit. Key driving dynamic parameters can be set via control buttons on the steering wheel. Information, such as tyre pressure and lap times, appears on a digital display – all combining to make a car very close to a race car. Another innovation in the Audi R8 is the performance mode of the Audi ‘Drive Select’ system, letting drivers coordinate driving dynamics parameters to the friction value and condition of the road.Audi is also launching new laser light technology in the R8 model. The car can be equipped with a laser spot as the high beam headlight, bringing night driving to a new exciting level. The lights use uses high‑intensity laser diodes, achieving nearly twice the lighting range of LED high-beam lights.
