Ex-VW exec Hatz appeals detention to top German court

Wolfgang Hatz, VW Group’s former top engineer, who has been in a German jail for nearly a year over his alleged involvement in the automaker’s emissions-cheating scandal, is appealing to the country’s highest court in a bid for freedom, reports said.
