F1 forced to delay new qualifying format until Spanish Grand Prix

Bernie Ecclestone says that Formula 1’s new elimination qualifying format will not be introduced until the Spanish Grand Prix because of issues with readying the new timing software. The timing system is the responsibility of FOM and not the FIA, and given that the new system had been discussed behind closed doors for some months, the delay reflects a lack of joined-up thinking at the top of the sport.
