Introduced in 1968, the Plymouth Road Runner saw about 44,000 customers walk into dealerships to place orders. In 1969, sales nearly doubled, with over 80,000 examples rolling off the assembly line. Sales dropped in 1970 and beyond, leaving 1969 as the Road Runner's best year.
