Huge spike in traffic deaths is largest since 1940s

Traffic fatalities continue to rise at their fastest pace in decades, according to the latest federal data available. Deaths on the nation’s roads increased 9.3 percent through the first nine months of 2015 compared to the previous year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday.
