Aviation has always been about daring — but Cirrus Aircraft decided early on that it should also be about surviving. Back in 1999, the Minnesota company delivered its first airplane with a secret weapon: a parachute large enough to lower the entire aircraft safely to the ground. Called CAPS — the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System — it has since saved more than 200 lives and turned skeptics into believers.
