Jennifer Granholm approved by Senate to head Energy Department

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Senate approved President Joe Biden’s nominee, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, on Thursday to serve as secretary of the Department of Energy. The 100-member Senate backed Granholm 64-35, more than the simple majority needed.
