#MaseratiTrofeo 2015 – VIR Int’l Raceway – Let’s race now
http://www.maseraticorse.com/ – For the second year in a row, the Virginia International Raceway is the stage of the Maserati Trofeo World Series event. The US track will host round four on the weekend of Friday, August 21 through Saturday, August 22, 2015.This marks the second round in the US for the Maserati Trofeo series shortly after June’s event at Road America, Wisconsin.Among those taking part there is Freddie Hunt, son of 1976 F1 world champion, James Hunt. He is at the wheel of the No.28 car featuring Autoweek livery, also driven in Road America by another driver with a famous father: Derek Hill whose father, Phil, claimed the 1961 F1 crown.The title fight continues with Frenchman Romain Monti currently leading with 86 points, 23 clear of the Italian, Riccardo Ragazzi. The line-up includes a healthy number of North Americans with the Patrick Byrne/Guy Cosmo crew, Jeffrey Courtney (third in Race 1 at Road America) and the returning Jim Taggart/Tom Long pair – who placed second in Race at VIR last season – all confirmed. New entry for Josh Hurley. Another participant who will join the line-up is Italo-Canadian Gianmarco Raimondo who drove the team Vita4One Maserati GranTurismo on its GTS debut in the Pirelli World Challenge championship. Raimondo clocked the third best time in qualifying at Road America in June. This time around, Raimondo will be in a Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo decked out in Chase livery, sponsored by Chase Auto Finance.
