Scientists at UCLA have found a new way to inject silicon carbide nanoparticles into a molten alloy of magnesium and zinc, resulting a metal nanocomposite that demonstrates “record levels” of stiffness-to-weight and specific strength, and “superior stability” at high temperatures.
