Nurburgring speed limits lifted in 2016 after track changes

Confirming previous rumors, speed limits will be removed from the Nürburgring in 2016. The circuit’s owners will also make multiple changes to the course to improve safety, and the most significant will be smoothing out a 1,640-foot area around Flugplatz (pictured above) to remove five bumps, “which are the result of years of high utilization and heavy use of the Nordschleife,” managing director Carsten Schumacher said in an announcement.
