Subaru Denies Mid-Engined Sportscar Development, STI Might not Go Hybrid

A couple of weeks ago, Subaru was said to be cooking up something fascinating, a true sportscar with the engine behind the driver. However, the report was just refuted by the Subaru of America president and COO Tom Doll at the New York Auto Show. It seems the boxer-engined rival for the Porsche 911 was indeed too good to be true, as the Japanese Automaker known for safety and all-wheel drive doesn’t need an exotic halo model.
