Tesla abandoned plans for its compact, next-generation EVs in March 2024, and later decided to launch stripped-down variants of the Model 3 and Model Y instead. However, as these increasingly look like failed attempts, Tesla is reconsidering plans to develop a smaller EV. The rumors resurfaced in China, where the stripped-down Model 3/Y is even less likely to impress anyone.
