United States wants to spend $4 billion to develop autonomous cars

The United States wants to spend $4 billion over the next decade to accelerate the development of autonomous cars. US Transportation Department Secretary Anthony Foxx made the announcement in Detroit on Thursday, saying the funding request would be in President Obama’s 2017 budget proposal and fund pilot programs to test connected and autonomous technology in designated corridors.
