VW slashes CO2 emissions scandal estimate to 36k vehicles

The Volkswagen Group has drastically cut the number of vehicles in its European CO2 emissions scandal down to just 36,000 from the 2016 model year. The automaker originally estimated the problem could affect 800,000 vehicles, but after “extensive internal investigations and measurement checks” nearly all the models had accurate CO2 ratings.
