VW’s diesel troubles intensify after German court setback

VW faces the prospect of compensating thousands of owners of tainted diesel vehicles after Germany’s top court undercut the automaker’s defense strategy that its cheating software was legal in Europe and therefore the company isn’t required to compensate affected customers.
